This salon has been a thought in our minds for many years. I am, Wendy Browne and my late husband, Allyn and I moved to Las Vegas in l982 to start our dream of having a photo studio, A & W Photography, which did came true for the last 35 years. During that time we had two daughters were born and were apart of this family business and they loved to watch their mom do makeup and style of the hair of models. This inspired Lindy, decided at a young age that she loved makeup and hair. She wanted her career to be a hair stylist, makeup artist. She went to Paul Mitchell The School and learned all aspects of cosmetology and got her license while building her clientele and pursuing her college degree in Communications at UNLV. Then she convinced me, to go back to school and get my Cosmetology license so I could help her. While I doing my 2 year of night school, I stumbled on this poor house that had been a foreclosure for 8 years and was for sale. I thought maybe this was our place. I had done this before with our Studio we had on Pecos from 1986 to l996 which we rezoned a house to commercial. Here is my chance to try it again. Well it wasn’t that easy and it took us 3 years to finally get everything fixed, sewers, fire hydrants, drawings, wells, contractors, fire/ zoning department agonies but with the help of one special contractor, Josh Ritson, we finally got it done. What a relief that was!!! We finally were able to open this year officially in October which we had a beautiful Open House. We finally did it set out to accomplish and now we want to share it will all of you!!!
During our design stage of the salon, we didn’t like the feel of modern salons, they were to cold, not inviting and intimidating. We fell in love with the New Orleans culture 5 years ago when my eldest daughter decided to get married there. It has such a colorful and diverse culture, where things that are old are treasured, the attitudes are carefree but with a classic/ timeless and with a little shabby feel also. It’s a sensory/artsy experience that we felt like we belonged to. It was like stepping into a delicious, eclectic European fairy tale. We wanted to bring a small piece of this feeling to our salon and hope you feel it too when you walk in.
As a mother/daughter team we desire to provide you with an innovative and affordable services which we like to give our utmost attention to your every detail. We want to listen to your wants and needs. We want to give you the look and service you deserve. We feel as stylists it is not about what we want but what you want. We are very passionate about our business which we have worked tirelessly on over the passed 8 years.
